About JTF
Alongside JTF Atlanta, JTF Sacramento, JTF Europe and JTF Australia, Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand is part of a worldwide network.
Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand began in 2017 under the umbrella of The Amici Trust with Emma Bishop in the role of National Coordinator. The event steadily expanded over the past five years with additional workshops and opportunities for our students and teachers as well as the inclusion of the Festival Pilot Programme in the week leading up to the festival. The Pilot Programme brings together students from across the motu to work on two yet to be released Broadway JR. titles, culminating with a showing of work on the opening night of the festival.
2026 is our tenth event produced by the team at StageAntics, under the educational and artistic supervision of iTheatrics, and sponsored by Music Theatre International Australasia. The Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand (JTFNZ) brings students, teachers and industry professionals together to celebrate a shared passion for musical theatre at what promises to be a weekend to remember!
